ESMERALDA ENRIQUE SPANISH DANCE THEATRE

 

Ayer y Hoy (Yesterday and Today) will be a retrospective of dances from the past, together with new works, archival footage, and guest artists.In this new production, the first act will showcase a medley of memorable dance pieces choreographed by Esmeralda and invited guests from Spain throughout the company’s history. Dancers picked their favourite performances to incorporate into the program including excerpts from Queen of the Gypsies produced in 2004; De los Buenos Manantiales, a Fandangos choreographed by Juan Ogalla for Aguas, produced in 2012; Añejo, from 2018’s De la Raiz that celebrates the era of Cafes Cantantes; as well as various selections of Alegrías (a flamenco style from Cádiz) from choreographers, José Maldonado, Juan Ogalla, Esmeralda, and others.The second act features new work including pieces by celebrated choreographers Javier Latorre, Daniel Ramos, and Mónica Iglesias.
